Biden picks adorable GSD as vice-puppy!

Well done, Joe and Jill. Just when I was resigned to the Obamas getting some kind of frilly doodle dog because of the allergy factor, the Vice President elect rescues my interest in DC dog stars. The puppy breaking story in the Daily Local News mentions that Biden has had German shepherds in the past. I knew there was something I liked about Joe. Please get that puppy a blog asap — the public deserves to know every adorable moment.

Howard Dean. Was right. Is right. (Barack, are you listening??)

Am not sure quite sure who these Young Turks are, but I know Howard. And am consistently thankful for all his energy and idears. Yes, I'm a raving fan girl (circa 2003), but the 50 State Strategy worked (thank God). And Thank YOU Howard for all you do. xx

Come on up for The Rising. Vote For Change

The Boss speaks for me: "I've continued to find, wherever I go, America remains a repository of people's hopes, possibilities, and desires, and that despite the terrible erosion to our standing around the world, accomplished by our recent administration, we remain, for many, a house of dreams...

"I want that dream back, I want my America back, I want my country back."

I voted for Barack Obama today

Obama-young-man
I voted with my head. This kid is voting with his whole heart. Man oh man. Loving these pictures. Wishing I was there. Little boy, you could grow up to be president. Really, truly.

Biden: The silence is Deafening

Never realized how much I like Sen. Biden. Give them hell, Joe.

Debra Bowen is my Friend

My last post mentions that the flood of politicians now using social media doesn't mean they actually all get it. My California Secretary of State, the wonderful Debra Bowen, does.

She uses Facebook like a real person, not a broadcast channel where her staff posts stuff for "fans".  Anyone with LOLcats apps and status updates that talk about her garden as much as voter registration is clearly doing her own posting.

Debra has been known for her understanding of technology since 1993, when, as a State Assembly rep, she successfully pushed for AB 1624, the landmark legislation putting all of California's bill information on the Internet. That plus her award winning work to ensure the integrity of the vote makes her a real hero among the netroots and yes, a true friend ;-)

Candace Parker: slam dunk star brand

Candaceparker Alley oops, she did it again. Los Angeles Sparks forward Candace Parker, two-time National Champion (and #1 Overall in the 2008 WNBA Draft ) had the best rookie debut in WNBA history (34 poiints, 12 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals and 1 block). And yesterday — in only her 13th professional outing — Candace dunked for the second consecutive game.

Like Tiger Woods or Michael Jordan, Candace has transcendental talent and beauty. Plus, more awards than I have space to list. (And a great name for fame ;-) So color me just another fan. No marketing smarty pants will move the WNBA to the next level. I predict Candace will.

Howard Dean in London today

I posted the play by play here. What I especially loved was Howard debunking the false Repub brand of "blah blah small government, blah blah etc etc", saying no way is that what they stand for, before he stated that the Democrat brand = inclusiveness, openess, competence
